Government invests in bioenergy from our forestry resources

The CSIRO, the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC), Private Forests Tasmania and the Department of Industry and Investment NSW have been offered Rudd Government funding to investigate opportunities for climate change mitigation in our forest industries. Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Tony Burke today announced the offers under the Government's Forest Industries Climate Change Research Fund. Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Tony Burke said the Australian forest industries play a significant role in supporting our economy and regional jobs.
