30-Jun-2010 Bioenergy - an industry that has significant potential to help Australia reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels - is the focus of a new report released today by the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC). Overview of Bioenergy in Australia provides a comprehensive overview of the $400 million a year industry, and addresses how bioenergy can help contribute to Australia's low carbon future. 'The report highlights the potential that exists for the development and use of a wider array of bioenergy feedstocks and technologies, and for bioenergy generally to play a greater role contributing to Australia's renewable energy targets,' Dr Prinsley said.
