Improved conditions for export of Tasmanian apples to China
30-Jun-2010Improved quarantine conditions will allow the commencement of Tasmanian apple exports to China following the signing of a new agreement between the two countries today. Announcing the new agreement, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Tony Burke said the amended protocol was a boost for Australia's apple industry, and Australia's trade relationship with China. 'These new quarantine conditions are a tremendous boost for our important horticultural industry and I commend the Australian and Chinese authorities for reviewing the agreement which now allows Tasmanian growers to access the Chinese market under workable protocol requirements.'.
