There are two things that every person on the planet has in common.
It doesn’t matter what colour your skin is, what God you worship or if you are a boy or a girl; every person on the planet eats food and uses energy.
The food and the energy resources that we use are produced by rural industries such as Agriculture and Mining.
Rural industries are based outside of metropolitan centres and the people who work in them, are supported by rural communities.
If rural communities decline then rural industries suffer.
If rural industries are not sustainable then a lot of people will be left hungry, in the dark.
Local Intelligence supports rural industry by ensuring the long term sustainability of rural communities, so that we can continue to eat affordable, quality food and enjoy all of the benefits of a developing and diverse energy source.
More than 60% of Australians live in a capital city, leaving the minority to live in rural, regional and remote areas.

Less than 5% of the population manages 99.5% of our landmass to produce all of our food and energy needs.

Not every one who lives in a rural, regional or remote community works directly to produce food and energy, but without the communities support rural industries would not be sustainable.

Rural industries depend on their communities for their survival and we depend on rural industries for our survival.

Rural, regional and remote communities have a lot to offer.
There are careers for professionals, business opportunities for entrepreneurs, lifestyle options for families and warm, fuzzy moments galore for community minded volunteers and adventurers.

How to approach one of these communities?
Mostly, it's intimidating, especially if you do not know anyone, or you are not familiar with the culture, the language, the business community or the environment.

What can make all the difference?
Having the most relevant local information when you need it.
Having a personal point of contact to introduce you.
Having a friend who makes you feel welcome.

Local Intelligence tells the story of rural, regional and remote communities and rural industries to inform, entertain and engage metropolitan populations and businesses.
It is our intention that every person, feels welcome and comfortable regardless of if they are doing business, relocating their family, attending a party or simply learning where their food and energy comes from.
