Welcome to the Bush In 2006, Lara Wilde realised that the main reason people did not move to rural, regional and remote communities was because they did not know the answers to some very simple questions and most importantly, they did not know where to find the answers. It was a combination of ignorance and bad media that lead many people to think of the “Bush” as being a place of drought, hardship, isolation and outdated technologies. Often they did not realize the beauty, the opportunities and the luxuries of living outside of the city. Lara wrote “Welcome to the Bush” to educate people from around the world about life in the rural, regional and remote communities. The eBook format allows the book to be used as a reference tool, searching for key words, highlighting points of interest and instantly connecting through hyperlinks to resourceful websites. “Welcome to the Bush” is available online and is provided as a part of the “Welcome to Town” service.
